Privacy notice
Last updated: October 15, 2026.
Organiza is a free portal that churches use to organize their members and serving teams. Banda is its app for the worship team. Both are part of Digital Church, a volunteer-run, nonprofit project. This notice applies to both, to the Digital Church account (the same one for Organiza, Banda and Proyecta) and to the Proyecta cloud backup.
Who is responsible for your data
Each church that uses Organiza is responsible for its members' data: it decides what is stored, who sees it and what it's used for. If you want to see, correct or delete your data, ask your church first. Digital Church only provides the service to store it and doesn't use it for anything else.
What data is stored
- For people who sign in to the portal: name, email and password (encrypted; no one can read it).
- For each person registered by their church: name, phone, email, address, date of birth, sex, the dates they started attending and were baptized, family, skills, ministries, shifts, days they're not available and discipleship progress.
- Pastoral notes: they're stored encrypted and can only be read by the people the church has given pastoral permission. Every time they're read, it's recorded.
- A record of actions inside the portal (activity log), so the church knows who changed what.
- In Banda: the songs the team types or pastes (lyrics, chords, author, CCLI number and copyright), the order for each service, the key or capo each musician chooses for themselves, and the church's song license number, if it provides one.
- If someone from the church connects Proyecta with their account: that computer's backup (songs and lyrics, service orders, text presentations, settings and the names of the files it uses), with the computer's name, the date and who saved it. Videos, images and documents are not stored. Each computer keeps its last 10 versions and the first one of each month for a year; the pastor and the administrator can delete them. For each connected computer, the date it was last used is stored.
- On your own device: Banda stores the services you download to use offline and how you prefer to view songs. They're deleted when you sign out or remove the download.
Organiza doesn't use advertising, doesn't sell or share data and doesn't track anyone with third-party tools. It only stores one cookie to keep you signed in. Proyecta never sees your password: it keeps a key on that computer that you can remove whenever you want from My account.
What it's used for
So the church can organize its ministries, schedule shifts, notify its volunteers, make sure no one is overloaded, provide pastoral follow-up and prepare its internal reports.
Songs and copyright
Banda doesn't come with copyrighted lyrics and doesn't share them between churches. The songs each church stores are only seen by people from that church who have access to Banda, and Proyecta backups only by people from that church who connect Proyecta. When turning on Banda or the Proyecta backup, the church confirms it's responsible for having licenses for the songs it uses (for example, CCLI). More details in the terms of use.
Children's data
Churches can register children as part of a family. Children don't have access to the portal. We ask each church to register only the data that's needed, and with their parents' permission.
Where it's stored
On Netlify's servers and its managed database, which may be outside your country. The connection is always encrypted (HTTPS).
Your rights
Through your church, you can access, correct or cancel your data, or object to its use (known as ARCO rights). Anyone can ask for their sign-in account to be deleted.
Changes
If this notice changes, we'll post it here with the new date. See also the terms of use.
This notice is a general starting point; each church should review it with its legal advisor according to the laws of its country (in Mexico, the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares, the federal law on personal data held by private parties).
